Kanha National Park,is the greatest of India's Tiger Reserves,which encompasses around 940 sq.kms of deciduous sal forests,lightly wooded grasslands,hills and gently meandering rivers.

Kanha is the land of Tiger,it has been proved since years as it has the largest number of tigers as compared to any other wildlife sanctuary. The Kanha National Park is declared as the best managed Tiger Reserve. The chances of sighting the wild Tiger are reasonably good as compared to other National parks.

The population of tiger was around 71 in 1979,which has increased to 107 in 2001. Spotting tiger is always a matter of luck in many wildlife sanctuaries but the Kanha National Park is so rich in that the odds are titled in your favor.
Swamp deer or the barasingha,finds a special place in Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh, India. The Swamp deer is the animal that is taken special care of at the Kanha National Park. It is Kanha National Park,that saved the swamp deer from extinction. The population of Swamp deer was around 70 in 1970's now the population of swamp deer has increased considerably because of the serious measures taken by the wildlife caretakers and officials at the Kanha National Park. But still the population of Swamp deer is a concern for the authorities.

Another highly endangered species is the Black Buck. Wildlife parks and zoos are breeding this beautiful species to increase its population. Black buck is one of the 26 mammals,which have been declared endangered.

The Kanha National Park is the one of the largest and the best monitored parks in the subcontinent and definitely one of the best places to watch the critically endangered species of animals in the World.
