Kanha National Park is all about wildlife sanctuary, which is the largest national park reserve of tigers in central India. Kanha National Park is famous for its wildlife animals like tigers, leopards, barasingha, wild dog, birds of different species and son on living together under one roof in a national park located in Madhya Pradesh. Kanha National Park has occupied in over 940 square Kilometers in an area. Densely covered with greenery, lush sal forests,has open meadows and flora and fauna. Kanha National Park was established in late 1955 and designated as a Tiger Reserve in 1973. This park is also considered as Land of the Tigers because it is one of the most prominent tiger reserves.
History of Kanha Tiger Reserve:
The land on which Kanha National Park stands was the part of the Gondwana Region which was designated for the forest reserve. Portions like Banjar and Halon valleys were declared for wildlife sanctuaries to conserve or protect wildlife animals and species. In 1955 Kanha National Park was officially created.
Project Tiger was launched and also came under the Kanha Tiger Reserve in 1973. Kanha has successfully recovered while balancing predators and prey like Barasingha (swamp deer).

Lapsi Kabar- Is a gravesite of Lapsi which is located in
Kanha National Park (Mukki Zone). Lapsi was the name of hunter who got killed by the tiger in 1930s. Lapsi was not just a hunter but also a great guide. It became the spot of reminder of the human wildlife conflicts and historical huntings.

Kanha National Park is located in Mandla and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh. The safari timing of Kanha National Park is 6.30 AM to 11:00 AM and in evening timing is 3.00 PM-sunset. Kanha's nearest airports are Jabalpur, Raipur, and Nagpur airports, which are about 200 to 300 kilometers difference. Kanha's nearest railway stations are Gondia and Jabalpur, connecting to different cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata.
